Lizbeth Diaz 

Lizbeth Diaz is the Assistant Director and Director of Outreach for the Southern California Education and Research Center (SCERC). She is responsible for providing administrative coordination and performing grant management activities for the center. As the Director of Outreach, she is responsible for developing and implementing outreach activities that advance knowledge of occupational health and safety. She is particularly interested in addressing environmental and occupational health disparities in immigrant communities.

Lizbeth earned a BS in public health from California State University, Northridge. She holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she completed the Industrial Hygiene Program.

Verónica Ponce de León

Verónica Ponce de León is the Director of Continuing Education for the Southern California Education and Research Center (SCERC). She is responsible for outreach, education, and providing technical assistance to health and safety professionals, community-based and worker organizations, and employers. She is particularly interested in addressing occupational health disparities in immigrant worker communities and participated in research projects examining the health and safety of domestic workers.

Verónica earned a BA in biology and urban and environmental policy from Occidental College and went on to earn a teaching credential in bilingual education from San Diego State University. She holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, where she completed the Industrial Hygiene Program and the Global Health Certificate.
