CHEMICAL ENTANGLEMENTS:

A Symposium on Gender and Exposure

May 4 & 5, 2017

UCLA

Free and open to the public!

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

Chemical Entanglements will convene a group of scholars, scientists and community based researchers, artists, documentarians, and policy makers to assess the gendered impacts of (primarily endocrine-disrupting) chemicals on human populations. Speakers will use methods from across scholarly disciplines to assess the way gendered patterns of exposure contribute to illnesses. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet researchers, community organizers, artists, and innovators who are changing the way we approach:

– Reproductive justice, maternal health, and endocrine disruption

– Urban oil drilling in Los Angeles

– Income inequality, environmental health, and environmental justice

– Exposure to indoor air pollution in homes and workplaces

– Pesticides, flame retardants, and birth defects

– Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Toxicant-Induced Loss of Tolerance, and exposure illness

– Toxic personal care and cleaning products

– Training the next generation of environmental innovators and advocates
